Rodolfo Tamin is an seaman OFW who suddenly found himself ineligible to return to work after being hospitalized for eye problems. His meager savings all went to hospital bills. With no government pension or his former companys' support (where he worked for the last 30 years), he was now at loss on how to feed his family much more funding his childrens education. 

While recuperating at his home province in Marinduque in the summer of 2008, he experienced total electricity blackouts ranging from 3-5 days.

From there, the idea of BlueSolara was born. The idea of Solar Panels was not new to him. Most of the ships he worked on has Solar Panels on them. He knew its power and the help it enables to free the environment from carbon footprint. On his travels abroad, especially in Germany, he has always been impressed with  rows and rows of houses powered by solar panels.

This is where the BlueSolara company took form. From a single wish to be able to feed his family, to helping the environment as a mission.
